- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt and spices.
- In a separate bowl, whisk mashed bananas, eggs, butter, milk and vanilla until combined.
- Add wet ingredients to dry, stirring with a wooden spoon until just combined. Take care to avoid overmixing.
- Pipe batter into donut pan, filling cavities 3/4 of the way.
- Bake for 11 to 12 minutes or until tops spring back when pressed with a fingertip.
- Cool donuts in pan for 3 minutes then remove to a wire rack to cool completely before topping with frosting.
- Clean donut pan, coat with nonstick spray then repeat the baking process with remaining batter.
Condensed Milk Frosting
- Beat chilled heavy cream with an electric mixer until medium peaks form, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add chilled condensed milk and vanilla then continue beating until incorporated.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Assembly
- Dip the top of each donut into frosting then swirl until evenly coated.
- If desired, top frosting with a dusting of cocoa powder and mini chocolate chips.
- Donuts taste best the day they are made but can be covered and stored up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
